Wallpaper - Pimp my desktop

So, I've been doing some work on trying to bring The Morningstarr* to life. This is something I've been playing around with since we launched the main web site two years ago. It has had many different looks, none of which seemed to work, from animated videos to comic strips to short stories. It something I'm currently calling 'Tales from The Morningstarr*', and hopefully I'll have something soon.

I've been doing a little character developing with Zombie Mastermind, in the form of image and look. So far I have two concepts for the leads, which I've put together using photos and patience. Hopefully ZM will have a drawing or two for me soon.

these two concept drawings are based on the popular iTunes/iPod adverts that I've converted into wallpaper for those who would like to an Morningstarr* to their Desktops. So please, pick a desktop size...

800 x 600
1024 x 768

Widescreen 1440 x 900

Click on the size you need and then right click the bigger image and set as wallpaper if using Internet Explorer. For Mac users, click on image then control click the larger image and use image as desktop image.

Evita - Manchester Operahouse

I went to see Evita last night. Not my choice, but as I've mentioned before I'm game for almost anything. Besides, I was there with the father in law, I'm garanteed to get plenty pissed. And we did ;-)

Now I've seen the Madonna film before, so I know the story (which is one of the reasons I wanted to watch this) but I just don't get it. I don't understand the main character. Are we to feel sorry for Eva Peron? The story appears to portray her rise - via bed hopping - to
the top, using her status as a celebrity to win people's hearts (sounds familiar). However, she soon finds that having a state that loves you does not mean you know anything about politics.

This is further complicated by the fact that Che - the narrator - seems to dislike and love her at the same time. By the end, and her young death, I found myself thankful that she didn't live longer to ruin the state more.

Now I'm not saying the show wasn't good. On the contrary, the cast were fantastic. The woman playing Eva Peron had an amazing voice. The songs are all catchy and well known. No, the show was great. I'm just not sure I get why we need to be sorry for the lead. I don't recall
crying over the death of the wicked stepmother in Snow White, or any other antagonist I can recall...
